Summary

This is the golden rule set forth by the highly unorthodox principal of Oakland, California's American Indian Public Charter School. Hailed as an "education miracle" by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, AIPCS was transformed from a failing, run-down "nuisance" into one of the highest-performing public middle schools in the nation.

Author Biography

Dr. Ben Chavis is "administrator emeritus" of the American Indian Public Charter School in Oakland, California. Carey Blakely grew up in Massachusetts and California and majored in English at UC Berkeley.
