Summary

The essential primer on this lesser known diagnosis of ADHD featuring both prescriptive and experiential solutions.

Living with Inattentive ADHD seeks to shed a light on this type of ADHD that is often misunderstood. From recognizing symptoms through diagnosis and beyond, everything you need to know about Inattentive ADHD, you will find inside these pages.

Written by someone diagnosed late in life, the book includes personal experience amidst practical revelations most useful for those living with the same condition such as growing up with ADHD, living with it as an adult and a frank discussion on how seriously limiting the condition is.

Especially as ADHD profoundly affects so much about a person's daily life and emotional well-being, Living with Inattentive ADHD acts as a guide through this winding journey, a circular staircase, with research-backed recommendations and advice given on things like diagnosis, prescriptive medication, health habits, common problem areas and how to tackle them, and more.

Author Biography

Cynthia Hammer is the founder of two ADHD-focused non-profit organizations: ADD Resources and The Inattentive ADHD Coalition. She founded and ran ADD Resources for 15 years, a few years after she was diagnosed herself, focused on helping adults recognize their ADHD and learn how to improve their lives. During her tenure as Executive Director, she hosted annual conferences, produced a popular booklet The ADD Reader, and maintained a website with numerous articles and resource links. Founded in March 2021, the second one exists to create more awareness about Inattentive ADHD and the dangers of its under-diagnosis. Fueled by her Master's in Social Work and her experiences with ADHD, she seeks to share her unique perspective on how ADHD affects one's life.
