Author Biography

Marina Abramovic was born in Belgrade, and is well known for her works focusing on performance. Pursuing relationships between the bounds of the body and the possibilities of spiritual energy, she employs her body and biographical elements as social metaphors for her works which often directly involve the public. In 1997 she showed the video installation and performance Balkan Baroque at the Venice Biennale, and received the Golden Lion Award for Best Artist Germano Celant (Genoa, 1940) is the senior curator of contemporary art at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York
