    Melanie Brummer is the author of Contemporary Dyecraft and owner of Slipstream, a company that sells dyes and conducts dyeing workshops. She has been dyeing her own fabric for 20 years, starting out by selling hand-dyed T-shirts and dresses at flea markets and going on to provide custom-dyed fabric to fashion designers including Marianne Fassier, Stoned Cherrie, Sun Goddess, Black Coffee, Marion & Lindie, JJ Schoeman, and David Tlale. She lives in South Africa.
